Visit to WA (Perth) - Station Visits

Hey everyone! My name is Alex.
I am a volunteer fire fighter with the South Australian Country Fire Service, and I will be heading to Perth in September, from the 12th to the 15th.
I would love to be able to visit some of the fire stations in WA!
I will be staying near Midland, but will have a car, so I can travel some distance.
I don't know much about fire services in Perth, so it would also be a great learning experience.
So if anyone would be nice enough to arrange with me, some tours of their station, please let me know!
The times I am thinking I could do it, would be Thursday 12/9 PM, Friday 13/9 All day until 4PM, Saturday 14/9 All day / night, and Sunday 15/9 AM.

If I can arrange it within the next week or two, I can arrange to buy some shirts / jumpers / hats / and other SA CFS merchandise for a swap, if you can do that. (Or I could bring a shirt with me as a thanks)

So if anyone could either comment on this thread, PM me, email me (alex.maddern@sacfsvolunteer.org.au), or even contact me on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/dizzie131), so we can organise it, that would be awesome!

Or, if you can point me to other forums, facebook pages, or brigade websites that may be able to arrange visits, please let me know!

Thanks everyone!

Alex

Hi Alex,
I'm with the Darlington Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade (http://www.darlingtonfire.org.au/) which is located about a 10min drive east of Midland. I would be happy to give you a tour of our station while you are here. We do our weekly "scheds" (station and vehicle checks and maintenance) on a Saturday morning from 9am-11am. If you haven't yet planned anything for the Saturday morning you're more than welcome. Otherwise I can show you around another time if more convenient.

That would be awesome mate!
I have arranged to go to the Baldives station on the Saturday too, so I will sort out what time I will be going, then will let you know :)

Thanks for that!
Also, if you want to do a shirt swap, let me know ;)

Hey mate,

I did PM you, but i'll post in here as well.

First of all welcome to WARSUG. I am a firefighter with Bullsbrook VFS, about 15-20 mins up the great northern highway from midland. I would be more than happy to show you around our appliances and the gear we use.

I will be between jobs at that point, and as such free all week so can do whenever to fit in with any other brigades around the shop, however we do our vehicle checks and training on Sunday morning (9-11) each week so if you are free that morning come on down.

This sounds like an opportunity for a beer!

Alex, since you're basing yourself from Midland, and you've got invitations from Darlington and Bullsbrook to go pay them a visit, this sounds like a perfect opportunity for a beer/wine and a feed somewhere in the Swan Valley maybe on the Saturday evening.

Let us know if you're free and I'm sure we can put something together :)

Hi Alex,
Have you sorted out your schedule for station visits?? Haven't heard back from you yet.

Very sorry I didn't reply.
I am heading to Baldives BFS on Saturday morning, then heading to Bullsbrook VFS first thing Sunday morning.
So if it's not too late, I wouldn't mind coming to see your brigade.
If you want to inbox me on Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/dizzie131 (preferred) or on here, we can arrange a time to meet?
Maybe Saturday around lunch time?
