Tom,

The new Protective Service Markings have just been rolled out and will be on all new AFP PS cars that come out.

The AFP is trying to increase its image in the Community by having high visabilty police cars out there. The words Protective Service will no longer appear on the cars at all.

Effectively, you will have AFP Police Vehicles being driven by Protective Service Officers.

Isnt that a bit of a worry?

What if they get flagged down by a citizen, what powers can Protective service officers excersize?

I guess they could call for assistance or do whatever they can wirh what they have. Community Policing is not their role.

Back on topic....

I personally dont find anything wrong with the PC GURU car, looks great IMO, the signwriter done a great job and doesnt resemble a police vehicle at all. Obviously its doing its advertising job quite well !!
