First, it must be a polo shirt (with a collar), not a t-shirt. Having a collar makes it far more presentable in a wider range of environments.

Second, subtle is the key. Just a logo on the breast pocket area, like most corporate wear. No big logos, no big texts, nothing on the back. (and a single colour shirt with one simple logo will be cheaper)

Third, the shirt shouldn't be black or white. White shows up the dirt and not everyone feels comfortable in black. Maybe a grey or blue, or pastel colour.

The key to getting more members to buy a shirt is to have something that everyone will feel comfortable wearing in different environments. At home, at family & social gatherings, at corporate & sporting functions or at work. As members we will know what the shirts & logo look like, and will be able to spot one in a crowd. And for non WARSUGers who are curious enough about the name/logo to ask, we can tell them.

My 2 c's anyway. Any thoughts from admin yet??
Agreed, I was interested to start with, and then grew concerned reading it.

Since Gav's still on holidays as far as I know, you'll have to put up with me and my admin's hat :)

I like the idea. I voted unsure to begin with, since I was in favour of the idea itself but wasn't overly thrilled with the idea of something too flashy in the design department either.

Auntys_Eyes pretty much nailed it for me with his comments about fairly neutral colours, a smallish logo around the breast/pocket area, collared shirt, etc. If it was something like that, then I'd be all in favour of wearing one too.

Cheers,

In fact, if space is an issue then warsug.info can be used as well.

(Of course to most people, Web addresses "must" begin with "www" so there's no harm in leaving it there if people think it makes more sense that way :) )

Just got an appox price from an embroidery/tshirt shop in Gero...

$70-$80 Digitising of logo (one off cost)

$28 T-Shirt (reasonably nice shirt) with logo on pocket

$4.40 www.warsug.info embroidered on other breast

$32.40 plus add extra $5.60 per shirt to cover cost of digitising (ie total cost per shirt $38 approx )

Michael Keeping wrote:Hi Rockjet,

$38 wouldn't be the final price...
Postage & Handling not to mention the profit margin.

More quotes wouldn't be a idea bad right now so that we can get value for money.
If this does go ahead I would like to see a final design before purchasing.

Michael Keeping
Like I said its approximate and its not up to me, its up to the Administrators who run this site. I just put foward an idea!

I am thinking some thing like this:

These are the new shirts we have been issued at work. Despite the photo they are a grey coloured shirt with an embroided logo. Not too obvious, but neat and corporate. I will ask at work who supplied them and what they cost.
