Thanks Richard,

Reading past threads it seems the 800Mhz Motorola system in Wanneroo is no longer used. I just heard a short conversation on the 416Mhz MPT trunk again but its been quiet for hours. Yes it is a weekend I guess but I'm not sure if the 24 hour security service uses this or not.

That list appears to be out-of-date. The ACMA Database shows:-

Motorola Smartnet (the Business name - not the Protocol)
865.0125, 866.0125, 867.0125, 868.0125, 869.0125
865.5125, 866.5125, 867.5125, 868.5125, 869.5125

Memo Communications
865.2375, 866.2375, 867.2375, 868.2375, 869.2375
865.7375, 866.7375, 867.7375, 868.7375, 869.7375

Dept of Attorney General (WA)
865.5625, 866.5625, 867.5625, 868.5625, 869.5625

So there should be 3 different Control Channels, and 3 different System IDs.

Are those Motorola Type 2 Standards or?

From what I just whacked into the scanner, 869.5625 was the CC for Attorney and the scanner also came up with 3F16h (ID?)

867.0125 CC for Motorola Smartnet and 1C1Ch.

Not sure if I need to do anything else on the scanner other than put the frequencies in?

Motorola type 2.Put that first bank in (about 50 freqs) to a Motorola type 2 system and let it search for IDs.As it searches and stops on the IDs you press yes to save them. The great thing about the 996t is it does all the thinking and most of the setting up for you.It will find the control ch and the IDs.

The 25 frequencies listed above, are the ONLY 800 MHz Band frequencies shown for Central Park, so why waste time and effort inputting unnecessary frequencies.

If one has a masochistic streak, why not enter ALL 200 frequencies from 865.0125 to 869.9875 Mhz (in 25 kHz steps), just to make sure you don't miss anything.

From memory, both the 396 and the 996, have Control Channel mode (for Motorola 800 MHz systems ONLY), where you only have to enter the Control Channel frequency, and the scanner does the rest.

Interesting tid bit listening to the Biscom QV1 trunk this morning, Stirling Security talked to Ranger Base (obviously Stirling Rangers), and their ID was 1275 for those of you playing at home.

Question I don't know if you know this Comint, I'm trying to keep the line in muted when you close the program instead of it unmuting? Otherwise I get a hiss from the line when the device is disconnected and have to go and mute manually.

Just an update on the QV1 trunk, it appears the control channel has changed. I got data on 415.625 now instead. I don't believe the base channel or anything else needs changing does it?

No.

Most Systems have an Alternate Control Channel programmed, so that if the Control Channel fails, or they need to take it down for Maintenance, the Site can continue operating.

If it is just for Maintenance, a MOVE message is broadcast, and TrunkView should instruct your scanner to change to the new CC frequency.
