Looking for a Scanner around the $250-$400 range

Post by ben_swan »

Hi,
Looking for a scanner that can scan all Volunteer Bush Fire channels as well as FESAs 6IP/6AR. The scanner must have a detacable antenna while i can wire into a vehicle mounted antenna.

Thanks

Pretty much any scanner will cover those channels
78Mhz Mid Band (existing network)
163Mhz High Band ( WAERN )
468Mhz UHF (ex WaPol/SES)

the Uniden XLT series scanners will do the job fine, though ICOM, Vertex ect all do the same job, maybe a bit better audio quality.

though the uniden scanners only have 100/200 channels depending on models.

Hi ben
A search of the relevant forum topics should turn up the frequencies you are after. Have a look here to get you started, http://warsug.info/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=5454 and feel free to ask questions about anything more specific you cannot find in these topics.
