Uniden homepatrol

I was looking through the uniden site and found a scanner called homepatrol.Just want to know if it would work in Australia.It looks like you have to program it to your area.OK looks like it only works in US/Canada.Bummer

At present, it wouldn't work in Australia, for a number of reasons.

1. you basically program it for your area by inputting the ZipCode, and it doesn't yet respond to Australian PostCodes.

2. it uses 'location based scanning' which relies on Lat/Long information in the Radioreference database, which is rather sparse for Australia, if it even exists.

3. there is currently no way of manually programming the unit (and I'm sure someone will try and 'shoot me down' on that statement).
