Car Aerial for Uniden 93XLT

Post by TrainFreak »

G'day All

I need some help on choosing an aerial to be mounted on the front of a Ute. I currently have a Uniden UBC93XLT and manly receive the FESA channels but on also listen to special events and the aviation band

I wondered if there is a vehicle mounted aerial which i could get which can get all the bands on this scanner (including FESA channels). If so where can i get one.

I’m having trouble finding a aerial which includes the FESA channels

What i plan to do is to connect the aerial to a cord which will go into the cab, then in the cab I would like to have a connecter to connect to my UBC93XLT. A picture can be seen with what I want to achieve in the link (link: http://warsug.info/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=2116&start=150) of the GWN 4wd.

If anyone can help it will be much appreciated

Honestly from my testing for receive only, any good antenna will do. I swapped a Scanner antenna for a 4.5dB 477Mhz antenna and can still receive FESA fine. My reason for swapping is the 'scantenna' is too long.

Then just find a 5/16" base and cable and BNC connector for the end.

Whoops beaten, Tyranus link is the same as my link (though slightly cheaper if you pickup from Malaga).

Thanks Everyone =D>

It looks like ill be getting the 'Mobile One BandSpanner Antenna', just need to do some calculations to see wether it will hit the roof of the garage. Don’t think so but better to be safe
I’m fairly new to the world of radio scanning, so thanks again
