Does anyone know a good place to get a scanner BNC antenna specific for the UHF range? (Specifically the police freqs).

There's a company here in QLD called LASER ANTENNAS and they make the BEST gear... IF you can source it...

The WA CB Centre is pretty good for that kinda stuff. They installed an antenna into my VT to run my 72UBC and its great.

I'm not too fond of Dick Smith's. Where is the WA CB Centre?

Go for an "On Glass" Antenna - no holes in the car then. Can tune to any frequency by simply cutting the antenna to length.

Can wire for any plug and the rec. end...

Work like a treat and once again - no holes required! :)

They do work, but not very well. Having no ground plane, they're terribly inefficient. I'd only put one on a car that was brand new and I couldn't bear to drill holes into :-)
