Digital scanner

I have a UBCD 996t.I have had it since June 08.It has been back to uniden 3 times with faults.The warrenty is up soon and it has froze on me.Im going to get my money back.I love the features of the scanner.What can i get to replace? NO UNIDEN.

From what I have seen there is not another scanner with so many features, however the 996 is not very good on 70-80Mhz range and does have FM radio interference. If you need a different radio a Uniden UBCT9 is good, it does however lack alphatags which I really love. A UBC9000XT is another good scanner.

I guess you need to ask yourself if you need one with EDACS trunktracker or not? I'm not sure what you guys hear in WA that is trunked in the clear but if you are not into trunking and prefer analouge scanning then that opens up a lot more options and scanner oppurtunities. AOR is a very top class brand.
