hey guys i just bought a ubc 92xlt and live in bunbury i have put in bunbury police frequencies but cant hear anything got the squelch bowt half open vloume up full but near hear anything from the cops have i forgotton to do something?

no its brand new mate its just really weird its scanning but havent picked up anything since since i got it

come to perth you will hear lots, if not then get biggggggg 12db connect to your scannner..

and with the police up your way i believe they only talk on phones to dispatch to jobs, i may be wrong. :lol:

police dont say much anyway , its all done with tadis now..., i get all districts in the metro area on my GME TX7200 , so you gotta
1 move into perth
2 buy a 12db and put it up nice and high
3 or find somthing else to listen to like fire or aviation

Jay you might have your squelch adjusted too high.

Try turning your squelch to the point where it makes a constant noise. Then slowly turn it back to just past the point where it stops making a constant noise.

Just a suggestion until you get a decent antenna.
