Wanting to buy a scanner

Hi,
I'm in the market for a new scanner but not sure wich one would suit my needs. I'm wanting to listen to my work radio which is on a repeater system from Collie to Boddington. Our work raidio's are motorola maxtrac units so I'm guessing we broadcast in VHF??? I have a list of frequencies from the uniden business frequency search site www.uniden.com.au/v3/search_page.htm and I'm sure one of the following frequencies will be the one I'm after
471.2750,471.500, 875.0125,35.0300
My question is what would be a reasonably good priced unit that would take these freqencies?
My old Realistic scanner that I use to listen to the fuzz won't except these frequencies. Any info appreciated..........Nemo.

Welcome aboard!

My guess would be the 471.2750 and 471.5000 frequencies are the main UHF repeaters. Most scanners will cover those frequencies and if you're close enough you might not even need an outdoor antenna.

If 35.0300 is a repeater, then you'll definitely need a good outdoor antenna designed for HF/HF low band to hear it.

You'd be far better off checking the ACMA website at www.acma.gov.au and going into the Radcomms database.

You can then search for the repeater site itself by postcode, location and a heap of other things.

Once you have got the listing up and you are sure it's the correct one, then let us know what the frequency is and we can help you choose the right scanner.

I was goin to suggest the UBC 92XLT but i dont know if it will be able to pick up 35.0300

Thanks for your response guys. The company I'm trying to listen to is Worsley Alumina with there refinery in collie and the mine in boddington, they have a 50km conveyor witch runs between the two carrying bauxite. They definately use a repeater system but on wich band I'm not sure. Here is there full list of frequencies but some of these won't go into my hand held scanner and the ones that do are all refinery based radio's or mine based radio's.
