I reckon it is the best beginners scanner, so easy to use, pics up your fire, police and ambos and more. Has the police frequencies pre tuned and scans thro them when u hit the pol button.

I reckon the only down fall is the antenna jack, its not a BNC type so u need to find a place that has an adaptor or custom make one like i did in order to put on BNC antennas.

If u like listening to avaition then thats also a downfall because it is below its frequency range.

I love it.

One problem is the matter of finding one because dick smith and Tandy dont sell them no more.

Bought mine a year and a bit ago for $150, best $150 bucks iv spent!!!

I highly recommend it as a beginners scanner cause its so easy to use.

I don't know what I BNC antenna is - Is it important

I haven't owned a scanner before.

I just want one for in the car and around the house.

Is $75 a good price for one, considering that the coppers are going digital?

Would it get reasonable range.

Finally,

Recharging.

What sort of batteries does it have.

Does it have it's own charger?

No it doesnt have a charger - I run regular batteries in mine when I used it and it surprisingly lasts a while.
