Nice rig!

I don't do Mac stuff but I used to have a freeware program called "Scanner Recorder" years ago on Windows. I don't think it was available on the Mac as far as I recall.

Anyway I went looking for a program that would do much the same thing and came across this - http://www.blackcatsystems.com/software ... order.html

It's not free (US$20 to purchase) but I think it'd do what you want - when it detects the incoming audio from the receiver, it'll start recording, and stop when there's silence again.

Is that the kind of thing you're looking for?

Audacity!

Use Audacity! It has all the features, and is open source and free.

Mac, Linux, and Windows.

One advantage of something like scanner recorder or the Mac Audio Recorder is that it doesn't record the dead air between transmissions.

Audacity has that feature as well, which is why I strongly recommend it over paid software.

Here is how to use it.

Audacity is awesome. If you install FFMPeg as well, there isn't much it won't do. And it's available for OSX and Linux as well.
