Hi All,

See in the latest "tricky dicky" (DSE) catalogue that they have a DSE Branded Scanner for sale - Digital - for $899.00

They claim it picks up the new WAPOL digital frequencies...

I very much doubt it! Anyone else seen it??

Cheers, CC 8)

It's a rebrand/clone of the Realistic Pro-96.

It picks up digital APCO25 channels which the WA Police will use. However, it will receive nothing once the police switch on the encryption.

Also, I've read that it can only pick up "standard" P25 digital signals, it can't track digital trunking which the police are also using.

Definitely does trunking - the 96 in the name refers to the fact it can receieve both 3600 baud systems and the new APCO25 9600bps trunk system that WA is installing.

Great little radios, much more sensitive than the Uniden 396.

Only catch is that you can only program one trunking base & offset range through the front panel, to do the other three ranges you need software (which no one has written for this particular model yet)
