Uniden has recently released a newer version to the old ubcd396t. New fetures include gps based scanning and it now has over 25000 channels. Check it out here: http://www.uniden.com.au/AUSTRALIA/p_ub ... _index.asp on the uniden website

Someone bought one of these today, comes with data cable but no software like the old 396T! On the website it states you must search the Internet yourself for software.

Apparently freescan works well for those interested.
"VKI, NJ050 will you be attending the job?"
"Negative VKI, my desk is bolted to the floor".

I have one myself :D they are an excellent scanner but not much different to the 396t model. I personally prefer programming the scanner directly rather than having to muck around with computers and installing software ect. But your right, there is compatable software out there
