Where will everybody be watching the Skyworks from .
If you will be around the river can we pick a channel and get a network going maybe use close call capture and swap some scanner frequs for the day.
I will be in the carpark between the river and the Concert hall and will be there all day with my scanner and UHF CB

I aim to be on the city side of the river and will probably be on the amateur 2m and 70cm frequencies. Most likely VK6RVP Vic Park on 438.525MHz and possibly VK6RFM Fremantle on 146.950...

I heard there's a ham radio course coming up later this month. What a great way to stay in touch with others during events like the Skyshow.

That's 438.425, Doug :-)

Those with P25 digital capable scanners may be able to hear some unencrypted police command post chatter if they're fortunate.

Here are the channels I have programmed, with a rough description:

I chucked a few Marine frequencies in for good measure. Does anyone know if SES will be there/what channel they would use?

Thanks :P

SES will be there, and will have floodboats. Northshore unit usually uses channel 6/16 but Belmont, Bassendean and Canning may choose to use a different channel.

During the recent New Year's, the following digital police channels (P25 unencrypted) were in use:
469.0000 MHz
465.2500 MHz
466.1500 MHz
The operators on the above channels during New Year's Eve were P25 digital unencrypted, with the patrols being a mixture of P25 unencrypted and some encrypted.

I wonder if these will be used again for SkyWorks 2010? Can anyone confirm?
I have them stored in my UBCD396T so I'll try them out.

Correction:

The first frequency above should have been 469.4000 Mhz

Apologies for the typo.

The airshow should be controlled by Either Perth Approach or Departures (as thats their airspace) - 123.60/118.70 depending on the runway config at Perth, unless they set up a special frequency, i will keep an eye out for NOTAMS and speak to my instrutctor as he is taking part (sky writing) and let you guys know if i see/hear anything.

Formation Aircraft will most likely be using 123.45 for communication between themselves, unless they have selected their own discreete frequency (unlikely, but it could happen)

Out of Curiosity, where did you get 119.70 and 129.70 from? I cant find either on Garden Island, Perth FIC, Perth Airport, Jandakot Airport, or RAAF base pearce's information pages in the ERSA?

From memory the 'last' dump and burn ever was performed a while ago where it was publicised that they won't be doing it anymore anywhere in Aus.
