For anybody who isn't a ham, there's an event from 4pm this arvo for 24 hours you can check out. This is a competition for maximum contacts where the two stations trade contact serial numbers. Set your scanners to listen:
Between 146.425 MHz and 146.600 MHz FM
Between 438.750 MHz and 439.250 MHz FM
144.1, 144.2 MHz USB
432.1, 432.2 MHz USB
1294.0 MHz FM
1296.1 MHz USB
29.2, 29.225 MHz FM
28.4, 28.5 MHz USB
or anywhere on the other ham HF bands. (1.8, 3.5, 7, 14, 21 MHz bands)
Other freqs will be used but they are the main ones.

The contest is open to listeners also, so if any scanner owners want to enter as SWL's, go for it!

Info on the contest, and some apps for logging are available on the WIA site here - http://www.wia.org.au/members/contests/rdcontest/

Good point. You need to read the rules carefully as well. All points scored help WA win again

I'll be on air tomorrow morning from Bunbury - looking forward to as many contacts as possible. Unfortunately I'm limited to 2m/70cm FM only but I have a good location where I'll be driving to park. I may be even able to jag a few Metro contacts, or at least Mandurah from here :)

Got the laptop all ready to go with some logging software... keep an ear out for me everyone! :)
