I log in from 4 different computers through 2 different providers. Some times i can be fine for days then randomly i get dumped in the middle of a session, with both versions. (REALLY annoying when looking back through new posts over a couple of days and it resets to when you were dumped #-o ). I think Tyranus might be on the right track with a cookies issue.

My issue is i login, click on a topic that contains new posts, then it logs me out. So I have to login again to comment etc. Repeat.

It doesnt delete posts I havent read in between logins/outs though.

Hrmm. I'll have a look and see what might be happening there.

I use a number of PCs (home & work) and I've never had it dump me out while I'm logged in, but if I go away after being logged in and use the site again I find I'll have to log in.

I just got dumped a few minutes ago, about 22:50. Looking at recent posts, went to reply to a post and it took me to the login page. Went back and i was logged out. Had to log in again.

Hasn't happened to me... are you all using IE? Perhaps Safari and Firefox handle the cookies better?

Doesn't happen for me with Firefox2 at either home or work, logged in once and have never logged out since.

Hasn't happened at work, IE6.
Hasn't happened at home, FF3.
I thinks a few people are very unlucky! Makes for some interesting troubleshooting this spread and variation in problem.

[frustrated rant]Now i'm really ticked off. I have been dumpded 3 times tonight and it's really p***sed me of :evil: . Each time i have been typing a post or PM and when i hit submit it takes me to the log in page and tells me i "need to log in to perform that function". I have wasted a lot of time tonight logging in and retyping things. At least with v2 i could go back a page, copy what i had typed and paste it back once i was logged back in. With this version, once it has gone to the login request iwon't go back and the text is gone.

I feel better now[/frustrated rant]

I haven't been able to replicate the problem on my end, and I've used WARSUG on mobile phones, various PCs, various browsers and still can't make the problem appear for me :-(

Looking through the logs, it looks like many people are visiting us as http://www.warsug.info instead of http://warsug.info. That might be affecting the cached cookie. I've put in a redirect so we all end up at http://warsug.info.

If this problem reoccurs please let me know, telling me your browser, your ISP, your virus scanner and/or firewall app and anything else that might help so I can figure what's causing this.

Cheers Gav. Didn't mean to create work for anyone, just venting my frustration. But for the record if it helps in any way;

Browser = IE 7
ISP = iPrimus
Virus/Firewall = AVG 8.0 Internet Security

It may also help to state OS version (including service pack) and browser add-ons as well.
