Reviews?

Post by Zebedee »

Does anyone feel there'd be support for a reviews section in the forum? I'm thinking along the lines of forum members posting the good, the bad and the ugly for the scanners (or any other radio related equipment) that they own.

There've been threads in the past asking "What scanner should I buy?" - if people have a place to write about what they've got, do you think people would read it, and more importantly do you think people would contribute?

As well as casting a vote above, please post any thoughts in this thread.

For example, if the idea of having a reviews section is supported, I'm wondering what to do next ... do we need a template document to help people wanting to contribute a review?

Sounds good to me. I'd like to hear from people with rigs and what they like and dislike about them.

Sure. And hopefully it does not need to be limited to just our hobbies, but to be able to review anything we have bought?
May drive up the traffic a bit thou if we do that.....

Initially, I think we should stay fairly close to reviewing things that are relevant to the forum's purpose - scanners, other radio related equipment, associated peripherals, etc.

Reviewing books, lawnmowers and espresso machines can come later, maybe ;)

But isn't coffee an integral part of being a HAM?? or is coffee supplied only for the IT nerds that have it as their staple diet? :P

Lucky for me I'm a geek then, and coffee is not my thing 8)

Personally I'd love to have a place to rant or rave about products.
Hopefully it does not become a "you're wrong - you're to thick to use it right" type of review area.
Looking forward to reviews with photos, where bought from, price paid, ease of use ETC :D

Yes, it seems to be only Matt though me. And the link to the next post hyperlinks to Matt's actual post in another section.
