Internet and Forum Behaviour -- PLEASE READ.

Post by Zebedee »

Folks,

After reading a number of threads today, I can't help but notice a general lack of civility in some of them.

Please remember that the purpose of this forum is for people with a common interest in radio scanning and technology to share ideas and information.

It's not here for you to practice your insult-hurling skills, or to engage in pointless debates.

Frankly, we all have better things to do then read through pages of off topic garbage, insults and arguments about pointless stuff. It doesn't make coming on here "fun" and it's not exactly encouraging new people to join.

Please, remember the advice that our Mums gave us all those years ago: "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all."

If you have any questions or concerns, please send any admin or mod a private message and we'll do what we can to help.

But the bad behaviour that is being shown by a few people has to stop.

Folks,

It seems that some people aren't getting the message when it comes to appropriate behaviour on the forums.

I keep noticing people complaining that such-and-such a topic has nothing to do with WARSUG or scanning and publicly "naming and shaming" other forum members. This has to stop.

This is a two-way street folks. Not every topic will be of interest to everybody, and not every topic will fit neatly into one of the main forum categories. If you don't like a thread - don't read it! Nobody's forcing you to.

If you want to post something in one of the subject areas, please make sure that it's relevant in some way to that subject. The off-topic area is the exception - almost anything is OK in there so long as it's not abusive or indecent. Remember that we try and keep a "family" atmosphere in here.

Last of all and probably most importantly. If there's something in a thread that you don't think should be there, please use the "report post" feature. DO NOT reply to the thread having a whinge - you're only adding to the problem rather than helping solve it.

Thanks!
