I have the 3000XLT and it's a workhorse. 400 Channels, devided between 20 banks of 20 channels. Great range 25mhz-1300mhz. The Nicads can be replaced by Sony batteries, as mine were done when I bought it off ebay.

These are the freqs registered to Swan Taxis. I only heard activity on 488.625 and 489.500. Still haven't heard any drivers yet. Just listening to them... it amazes me how some of those drivers passed their entrance exam...

Ch26 is on a metro wide repeater system. Someone in Joondalup can talk to someone in Rockingham or Mandurah.

1004mhz band

Was bored today so decided to scan the upper freqs on my scanner.
Found some voice on 1004.2875 and 1004.0625.
ACA says it belongs to the Dept of Defense, but the transmissions i heard sounded more like a bus company that drives to the airport etc.

Any idea who it is?

Any luck trying to decode their data transmissions?
Would be interesting to see what other misc details the operators send.
