Re: Interference on signal
Have you checked the SWR ?
It sounds like you have a poor connection, possibly a PL259 thats not terminated properly or a sus antenna.
Also VK6RUF is no longer licensed and VK6RLM is WARG's repeater.
Cheers

Re: System Fusion Yaesu Stuff
I have the Yaesu FTM-400 Fusion radio, the codec is better than D-Star in that it recovers from interruptions to the data stream more quickly i.e less "RD-D2"
In Perth VK6RTH 146.800 MHz is a Fusion / FM repeater but there are not many Fusion users in Perth to QSO with.

Re: pirates
Record the audio if you have a smart phone and post it here. With the appropriate strong language cautions. ( beeping out racist stuff etc.) Direction finding is really easy to do and those "tape measure" antennas as on the VK6 Fox web page work very well. I have an aluminum one for drivin...

The foundation course and exam are very straight forward.
Give it a go, you'll open a whole new world.

I was watching a video filmed there in 2010 and inside where the guys were operating from was the same radio I first got as a kid. I have no idea what it was called but I could pick it out of a line up 10 times out of 10. If there is anyone here that could tell me what it is I would be eternally gr...
