Yeah i know police will be fully digital soon, without encryption id still be able to pick them up correct? with encryption is a different story, does anyone know what sort/technical details involved with thier encryption. the VR5000 appeals to me because of the 10khz to 3GHz range, but lack of digi...

Yaesu VR-5000 Receiver or Uniden BCD996T Digital Scanner

Im trying to decide between the above 2 scanners. The Yaesu does 10hz - 3GHz but the Uniden is also digital and has trunking. Reciever/Scanner same thing? Uniden seems to have much better features but all those frequencies are tempting.. can someone advise?

The Perth online scanner works fine for me although I wouldn't personally have the inqury channels in their, too much shit. I can't get the Kalgoorlie one to work sadly. Any advice from anyone that can get it to work. My ISP is WAIX friendly also. If it goes down it usually means i killed it to pla...

Ahh fair enough, I'm using the Uniden UBC 120XLT 100 channels, 10 banks, 66-88 MHz, 108-137MHz, 144-148Mhz, 148-174MHz, 406-420MHz, 420-450MHz, 450-470Mhz, 470-512MHz. Have had it for about 4 years, battery is now dying (speaking of which, anyone know were I can buy a replacement?).

I stream the Kalgoorlie channel as well, as well as record it (scanrec, has VOX so no static)
