Re: I've got my Digital scanner.. now what?
412MHz area is St Johns where theres roumoured to be very very limited P25 transmissions (I've never heard a P25 transmission on there). But is St Johns encrypted? Yeah it is, all I've heard on there is encrypted garble but apparently there are P25 transmissions which are very very limited (reporte...

Re: I've got my Digital scanner.. now what?
I just program them into a conventional system and they work fine (I believe both frequencies are simulcast so only 1 is needed) Also if you do a control channel search in the 500MHz region you'll find encrypted WA Police, at the 485MHz area is encrypted Federal police and at the 412MHz area is St J...

Re: 'NEW' Uniden ubcd396xt
Someone bought one of these today, comes with data cable but no software like the old 396T! On the website it states you must search the Internet yourself for software. :smt017 Apparently freescan works well for those interested. I have one myself :D they are an excellent scanner but not much diffe...

Re: Programming P25 digital
To search/set the NAC code go to the channel options and select "set audio type" then select "digital only" and that will take you to the P25 NAC Option. There is no real difference in enabling the NAC options, it's just like entering a ctcss/dcs code.

Re: Programming P25 digital
Great vid Fitzy.Could u tell me what NAC A5A is.Mine comes up P-25.Thanks Cheers NAC I belive is the Network Access Code for P-25, its sort of like a ctcss/dcs code for analogue systems. I programed these frequencies into a conventional system instead of a P-25 system so I think thats where the dif...

Re: Bus and Train Frequencies???
They may use the same frequency as the transperth security (489.400) because they are both run by Wilson. They only operate Friday and Saturday 12 am to 6am so best to have a listen in around then.allycat wrote:Does anyone know the frequancy for new taxi security? Looks like same cars as transperth security.

Programming P25 digital
I've been playing around with my new ubcd396xt and stumbled across the Perth airport fire tender (air services Australia) which operate on 500.050 and 500.825. I found out that they don't use a control ch so I programmed them into a P25 single freq system. I put both freqs into seperate sites and fi...

Fire tone out
Both the ubcd396t and xt models have a feature called tone out mode which searches a frequency for 2 tone sequential/single/group paging tones. I tried doing a tone out search on a number of FESA freqs but with no luck. I'm just wondering if this feature will actually work here in Perth or if it's m...

Re: What can I listen to on a digital scanner in Perth?
Why don't they just change over to P25 digital instead of TETRA? Does P25 cost too much or are they just worried about the security of their communications?numloxx wrote:I've heard that WAC are now on tetra, and possibly some others companies to.

Re: What can I listen to on a digital scanner in Perth?
For those of you who have digital scanners, the airport fire tenders are on 500.050Mhz and 500.825, both are unencrypted P25 (can be quite interesting at times)
