Re: 6AR Interference

I think it's a fault with channel 380 (Red Hill), as I had to change the main stream over to 6IP again as this repeater that I normally use was doing the half the conversation audio thing at about the same time as the noise.

Alpha tags on DFES audio stream

Hi Folks. I have been working on a little project here and have now enabled "alpha tags" on the DFES stream. Since there are 4 radios connected to it, it can be hard to work out what's being said. To help, and if your streaming app supports it, the stream will now show the current VHF high...

Re: Streaming DFES scanner audio

The 6AR / command channel I use has some sort of fault that is only relaying one side of conversations. I've changed it to a 6IP for now, but might have a noisier signal.

And the above are probably directly related to the unit ID/selcall number they transmit.

Re: Thoughts for discussion

You also have radar and other high-energy RF sources in the vicinity of airports. Scanners have zero front-end filtering on their receivers (being so wideband) so they're going to get swamped pretty easily.

It appears on all ADS-B servers that don't censor their data. I use ADSB Exchange for an unfiltered feed.

Re: Legal or not?

This has been going around since Marconi was a boy. There were two reasons that I know of for why people say this: 1. "If we don't make money off of what we hear then we'll be classed as hobbyists and left alone". I'm not a lawyer but this probably has no basis in any law. Mostly an issue ...

Blackspots force Vic firies to suspend parts of Telstra radio network

CFA resorts to old analogue network. The Victorian Country Fire Authority has partially suspended the rollout of its digital radio network to the state's last remaining regions due to coverage issues. https://www.itnews.com.au/news/blackspots-force-vic-firies-to-suspend-parts-of-telstra-radio-networ...

Re: FESA frequencies

Should be a link at Guilderton. Try the high band channel on 164.8875.

Otherwise, All the 6AR/IP freqs are here so plug a few in and listen for activity:
