Re: General fire discussions
"and by the very virtue of its nature, alternating, the AC voltage fluctuates normally" 'alternating' is in relation to the direction of current flow, has nothing to do with the voltage? <-- call that high school teachings (thankyou robbage) btw, it's not up to the attending crew to deter...

Re: General fire discussions
Have a listen when we next have a big storm. You'll hear "water in the detector head" quite alot. I'm doubtful that a critical system such as a fire control panel would fall prey to fluctuating AC voltage (and in that case, they all have DC battery backup) that results in erroneous zone a...

Re: General fire discussions
the lightning tends to set them off Not true. It's usually water getting into the detectors when we have a big storm. Sorry, it is true. Most of the time it is voltage fluctuations that cause erroneous signals but large fluctuations cause sudden death of the sensors. Water will more likely cause su...

...That was funny... Bassendean turned out to a DBA at Ascot quays apartments. 44 as usual. But on the turnout message, the SO said "6ar Bassendean turning out DBA Ascot "kways" apartments." #-o 6ar's response was a bit more correct, but still wrong #-o . Sometime later when bel...

HAHAHA yeah you're not the only one that's noticed it! I don't get the point of it...just like I don't get the point of having FORD or HOLDEN printed across the top of your rear windscreen...who cares what car you drive? If someone does then they'll look at the badge! Though still waiting for the s...

Re: Troopie I saw on the Fwy pulling over a Supra
I saw LK102 (falcon ute with cage and GD lights) heading south on the freeway this afternoon and AZ251 (new VE wagon in crash striping) heading north on South Western Highway around Keysbrook/Serpentine this morning.

Isn't BA Breathing apperatus, with long duration BA, BA that has larger bottles.
The difference between BA and a MP/HP should now become evident.

I suspect that these decals are just for larger vehicles and vessels. They have been around for some time now.Mug wrote:Could this be a sign of things to come regarding new decals for police vehicles?

Re: Ambulance services other than St John
The patient had his hands behind his back as though he had handcuffs on and the ambulance was facing the oncoming traffic so had gone the wrong way down one side of south street. It was a bit bizarre.

No not that one. No livery except for the round sticker with the crest on it. All the lights were LEDS. Was smaller than the first intervention one, maybe a ford courier type cab and the box was not as large as the first intervention one. I tried to get a pic as when I was heading back the other way...
