VKI Procedures

Just wondering why its necessary that cars must seek permission off VKI to engage in urgent duty driving and when authorised they must supply their vehicle category, driver classification and regimental (im assuming thats there Registered # like we have in NSW). I've heard a few pursuits and urgent ...

Speaking as a Police officer, we are thrown into dangerous and critical situations on a dialy basis, with no more training and education than the regular person. Yes we are trained to defend ourselves, but we are not trained in pshycology, medicine, dispute resolution, and we are not mental health e...

TADIS

Hey all, I was just wondering if anyone could tell me how TADIS actually works? I know that its used for dispatching jobs to car crews, its just that I've been listening to a WA online scanner and often hear them make mention of sending the job to the car crew. Here in NSW we have MDT's in our cars....

Caged Sedans

Hey all, Just curious, here in NSW we have caged sedans, but they are limited to the Holden Commodore as Holden are the manufacturers if the partition. However I know that other states use different types of partitions (ie QLD) which are in both Fords and Holdens. I just wanted to know if WA was lik...

I have to agree with CHEV4EVR, radio/comms are not our masters and we dont answer to them entirly (obviously pursuits etc we answer to Sup'visor or Duty Officer). Radio/Comms are their to assist us in the job we do and connot direct us here in NSW to attend a job, what code to respond or when to tak...

Here in NSW we use beeps like NYPD. Here all P3 jobs are called normally. If its a P1 URGENT RESPONSE or P2 IMMEDIATE RESPONSE theres a loud "Beep, Beep" to alert cars that a P1 or P2 job is ganna be called. It gets ur attention. When we are at loud gatherings, they may try to call us a fe...

TADIS

Does anyone have any pics of the TADIS computer??? I'm just curious to know what it looks like? Wat programs and functions does it have? Our MDTS here in NSW are pretty limited, and at the moment dont event run CAD.

Regards,

Steve

Holdens / Fords ?

Just curious why all WAPOL vehicles are Holden Commodores. From looking at the chart on here very few, if any at all, are Ford Falcon Sedans. Is their any reason why WAPOL only used Holden Sedans? Here in NSW our fleet is 50/50. We then went more to commodore when they had the cage pack. Now apparen...

Vehicle makes/models

Hey i'm just curious, but what is the main make/model of car used by the WA Police? From the looks of that spreadsheet on this site, it looks likes mainly Holden Commodore. Is there a reason why they only really have Holden sedans......not that i'm complaining im a Holden fan......here in NSW tho we...

Here in NSW we dont ask for permission to engage in a pursuit. If I was working and come across a stolen car, i just call "Lake 35 Urgent in pursuit" radio asks, "Lake 35 ur speed, location and traffic." We reply something like, "100 over 80, blah blah blah." Radio then...

Live Feeds!

Mainly interested in listening to Police broadcasts from other states to hear how their comms run in comparison to ours ...

Here generally traffic is the main factor. If its high speed during medium to heavy traffic it would be terminated. Same if they go onto the wrong side of the road in medium to high traffic it would probably be self terminated here. If light or nil traffic it would still continue.

Thanks heaps for ur responses. They have been really helpful. What is TADIS that I keep hearing. Are they anything like our MDT's? (Mobile Data terminals)??? Here in NSW we have Commands (equivelant to ur stations/departments) and we have 3 different types of callsigns which are Command Callsigns, R...
