Re: Train Lines - Disruptions - 2012

This also means that until the damage to the train is repaired there will be at least 2 (and possibly 4) less railcars in service. The network is alread struggling in peak hour as it is!

Re: Train Lines - Disruptions - 2012

Well, that explains the "Technical issue" disrupting the Joondalup line! I've never heard of a train actually being stranded between stations though! Glad I'm not on that one!

Re: So... what do you think of this latest decision?

...*except for a couple of 15 min gaps in the morning. Yeah, as the armadale line now goes through to fremantle they have to deal with the Australind going out and back in. At least they don't have to worry about the Indian Pacific, the Prospecter and the Avonlink causing disruption on the fremantl...

What do the bus numbers mean?

I've noticed that the transperth bus numbers on the newer busses (the ones with a long beep for the stopping "bell") range from about 1900 to over 3000 (This includes the articulated busses based on the same chassis as the traditional style bus). Did the PTA really purchase over 1100 of th...

State Labour says they'll buy another 30 cars if they win the next election. Source: http://www.abc.net.au/news/2012-08-30/wa-labor-promises-more-trains-if-elected/4233238?section=wa That'll just mean 30 more cars sitting at the depot collecting dust. Why's that? No drivers? No, it's the capacity o...

Re: So... what do you think of this latest decision?

I hope they've learned the hard way that the Joondalup and Mandurah lines aren't the only ones that experience very high demand during peak times! I wonder how many complaints about train overcrowding they received while the lines were operating with reduced carriages...

So... what do you think of this latest decision?

On the midland, armadale/thornlie and fremantle lines they are apparently trialing sending 2 car trains instead of 4 car trains during peak times... at the same frequency as before...

There are not enough #-o 's for this...

Re: Train Lines - Disruptions - 2012

Oh wow... Someone screwed up while they were upgrading perth station, all lines lost power! Power has since been restored to all lines except the midland line which will be up at about 10 am. #-o Where did you hear that someone screwed up? What did they do wrong? Well they wouldn't cut power to all...

Re: Train Lines - Disruptions - 2012

Effective immediately Saturday 7 July 2012 at 10.35am

Trains on all lines are currently not operating due to a system error...
They have since fixed it but that must have been one heck of a system error to bring the whole network to a standstill!

Re: Train Lines - Disruptions - 2012

A power outage has to suck... especially in that area! One time I was taking one of the old A set trains into Perth Underground on the Clarkson line and the driver had forgotten to turn the lights on! It was PITCH BLACK for at least 30 seconds as the train came into the station! Used to happen all ...

Re: Train Lines - Disruptions - 2012

"Passengers are advised that train services on the Midland Line are cancelled between Perth and Bassendean stations until further notice due to an incident on the line." I am guessing that the hard-hitting "Trains move faster than you" campaign is not stopping them.... Confirmed:...
