Re: News: Firefighting equipment lacking: Report
There is a possibility that the nomenclature in the reports is incorrect as well. The references to witnesses saying they go back to their "UHF" radios is interesting. Whilst UHF radios have been used in regional (non metro) areas due to their compatability with other agencies, local gover...

Re: Social media and emergencies
There is a community fire page on Facebook for the Darlington area and surrounding districts that is quite active. Soon as people see/smell smoke, hear the helicopters or see/hear fire appliances people start discussions and give info and updates. Some members of the group are members of local VBFBs...

The F 350 would be a standard licence and a canter would only be a LR licence if that, but you are right in that anything above a standard licence would be an issue... Forgot about that... To get a MR is only be a couple of hundred depending how many lessons you took but that is enough to stop peop...

Re: RESCUE 65 Observations
I'm only guessing, but despite being a separate arm of the emergency services to the Police, it may have been designated R65 to eliminate confusion with the Police aircraft Polair 61, 62, 63 etc.pacestick wrote:Can anyone explain the Rescue 65 Callsign I know the 6 is for the Region but unsure on the 5...

Haha, 6AR just recieved a message from "Kewdale 2nd". Comms asked caller to repeat call sign... again "Kewdale 2nd". Comms says she has no record of a Kewdale 2nd brigade. Caller replies "Welshpool 2nd".

Re: New streaming scanner..?
The big problem with FESA simplex and command channels are that there are many of them and they only transmit in a local area. Unlike 6AR/6IP there is no one channel that can be "set and forget".
