Now-a-days, United States Navy ships run Trunked Radio Systems. Either APCO25 or EDACS.

Re: Radio Selection for a new radio user

The draw back is that being new to the country, I have less of an idea than some to be able to find the venues to find things such as radios.. not that they're obscure, but for some reason the internet seems to be soaking up some of the demand that had been there in the past, for whatever reason. T...

Re: Radio Selection for a new radio user

While not quite in the price range, at $170, the Maycom AR-108 from Skylines Pilot Supplies at Moorabbin Airport, might be worthwhile considering. In the past, Pilot Shops at General Aviation airfields, have had a selection of Receivers capable of receiving the VHF Aeronautical Band, although this d...

Re: Perth Trunk Tracking Guide

Hi all, Just completed a guide that lists all known frequencies and channels. I've only done channel lists for Central Park and Perth Airport, so maybe somebody else would like to do the other networks. Download link is here I realise the ACMA Database is not 100% accurate, but they show 86x.1375 a...

Probably changed their rules since 9/11, but in the past, the USAF was more likely to let you look around, than the RAAF was.

Re: Powerful signal at 768MHz - What is it?

During a recent 50-860MHz scan, I came across a very powerful signal at around 768MHz (give or take a few KHz; My receiver is not all that accurate). I don't know what it is, or where it is coming from, but it appears to be a constant signal, I get nothing on AM or FM besides general noise, SSB sou...

If you have TrunkView set up correctly, you shouldn't be hearing any data noise.

It is an officers vehicle, and his calls...

On the ACMA database that particular frequency was licensed to BISCOMM. 43 frequencies were listed, some of them were located ...
