Most States no longer allow guyed masts of the type you mention. They must be free standing.

Don't know for sure, but for a new one, I doubt you would get much change from $1400-1500.

Re: How to stop scanning?

I own a UBC93xlt and whenever I lock onto a frequency I can only listen for a few seconds before it begins scanning my saved frequencies, interrupting the frequency I want to listen to. I am not very scanner-savvy the device was somewhat of an impulse buy, but I still find it interesting. Is there a...

Re: Fast-Food Outlet Scanning

I notice by looking at the number of registrations in that list it seems that not all McDonald's or Hungry Jack's use radio communication. I'm I correct ? :-k A lot of the Drive Thru's now use HME equipment (scroll down to Page 4), which is low power 900 MHz or 2.4 GHz Spread Spectrum, and apparent...

Motorola type 2.Put that first bank in (about 50 freqs) to a Motorola type 2 system and let it search for IDs.As it searches and stops on the IDs you press yes to save them. The great thing about the 996t is it does all the thinking and most of the setting up for you.It will find the control ch and ...

And I also have difficulty listening to the Longwave Jandakot ATIS at 281 kHz because the tuning resolution never get the 0.281 Mhz perfectly. The closest I can get is 0.2815 Mhz. I have tried all different tuning steps available. 0.2815 MHz is 281.5 kHz The minimum tuning step is 5 kHz, so you are...

Re: Uniden UBCD396T - and trunking

. . As i said before if your looking for central park trunking freqs there is a list in genereal scaning pg 2.Hope this makes scense. That list appears to be out-of-date. The ACMA Database shows:- Motorola Smartnet (the Business name - not the Protocol) 865.0125, 866.0125, 867.0125, 868.0125, 869.0...

Re: Uniden UBCD396T - and trunking

Awesome, I have it sitting on the control channel but no voice channels have opened up yet (the only glimmer of hope was hearing a conversation last night after accidentally accessing the direct frequency). Well, it is listed as "City of Wanneroo", so my guess is that the majority of traf...

Re: Uniden UBCD396T - and trunking

415.6875 was what I was missing, it is the control channel :) Any idea what the base frequency would be? And can I assume 12.5Khz step? It comes up ID 3089 when I listen to the CC would that also be correct? Thanks! I have the Base Frequency as 415.5625 MHz. Most MPT1327 networks in Australia, are ...

Re: Uniden UBCD396T - and trunking

SCARBOROUGH and TRIGG are near their area, so its possible that they could be using those sites? Do you have any details on those sites? See above posts for CC and SysID. . . but there is also a Wanneroo trunk with I believe these frequencies and I finally heard some activity on one of them and the...

Re: Uniden UBCD396T - and trunking

So could the same voice be suddenly on another Biscom site, or even broadcast throughout the Biscom sites? Yes. But a bit of an explanation (not too long winded, I hope). A business has to pay for access to each Site they need to use. Some businesses might only need access to one Site, whereas othe...

Re: Uniden UBCD396T - and trunking

Cool, is that of any use to us? Probably only if you are trying to identify the SysID and Control Channel of other Sites in the Network. Only Sites within "reception range" of the Current Site, are broadcast in those messages. This may be up to 40 or 50 km in Rural areas, but limited to 5...

Re: Uniden UBCD396T - and trunking

Sure I'll keep an eye out, is that always broadcast on the control channel? Yes. On Biscom systems I have monitored, one is broadcast approximately every 31 seconds, if there is no other traffic, and they normally look like this:- 16:20:50 - BCAST| Vote now advice | Ch: 163 Ser No: 0 SYS: 0031 16:2...
