Long term I believe the intention is to phase out VHF Mid Band from the fire and emergency services. Are you planning on self studying and then sitting the exams, or doing a face to face course?
Just so you're aware, you'll need to sit three assessments - standard theory, regulations and a stand alone practical.

Last night I heard a scratchy but mostly readable transmission on 467.9875 with a voice saying they were testing BA Alpha on channel 200. Added to the master list on the first post.

Not sure what you've found but 460.8 MHz is outside the amateur bands. We have 430 - 450 MHz.
