Re: Deteriorated Signal Quality?

Yeah I'm definitely blaming my gear. I'm not getting anywhere near the reception I was getting before anywhere inside here. Ahh well. Thanks guys.

Re: Deteriorated Signal Quality?

Sorry I take that back, I'm getting stuff through now, it's a bit clearer (i.e understandable) but still a heap of noise/static. So upset :(

Deteriorated Signal Quality?

Hi Guys, Quick question, wondering if anyone was having reception issues on 164.000 and surrounding freqs? I haven't listened to the scanner in a while, but it seems that the quality has gone really bad. The strength seems fine, as the scanner has no issues locking onto the frequency, it's just almo...

Re: General Scanning Karrinyup/Scarborough and Surrounds

Anyone ever come across 440.2000? Amateur band, middle of the repeater link frequencies. Possibly people using illegal radios or you're getting crosstalk from a close station or it's an image frequency. I get a lot of that on the same band using my old Realistic scanner. The 151 MHz frequencies are...

Re: General Scanning Karrinyup/Scarborough and Surrounds

Thanks yorky, getting some listening through on 164. I have also spent a few minutes programming in the WAPOL frequencies and found that some are still used for general enquiries, so it should be fun :) It's just a shame that in the process of doing this I wiped out the local council/security worker...

General Scanning Karrinyup/Scarborough and Surrounds

Hi guys :) I have been given by a friend of mine a Uniden Bearcat 120XLT to play with. So far I have had a little success listening to 6AR and a local council/security band. I was wondering if anybody knew of any other frequencies I could program in and skip through in the area? Thanks! (P.S learnin...

What he said. I couldn't see myself paying for Foxtel, especially now that the FTA HD channels are well and truly up and running.

You mention running a 12v power straight to the battery. I assume it's fused and has a toggled on/off switch? Other than that, a very very tidy install. I need to get around to installing a UHF/similar radio of some sort in my Falcon. I have an earlier model but the interior and engine bay is almost...

Judging by the location of the damage, I'm going to say EL was parked or stationary, the BA either did not see the parked/stationary EL and hit it (at reasonable speed) or was speeding and/or overtaking. Just a guess.
