Something that operates using the GSM codes or G729 may not use that much bandwidth. For example G729 has a base of 8kbps and overhead (RTp, UDP, IP and Ethernet) of 31.2kbps bringing it to 39.2kbps. Seller feedback < 100 or < 98% I don't bother with. There's heaps of fraudulent listings posted on eBay, Gumtree, Craigslist etc every day.

Hmm I always thought they were P25. The VX820 series do come in P25 variants.

I'm not super clued up on digital radio, however my field of work is IT and I'm guessing these radios employ some kind of publickey cryptography involving a key exchange? Or do they employ some completely other type of tech?
