Long term I believe the intention is to phase out VHF Mid Band from the fire and emergency services. But until that day comes, the repeaters are there, the channels are programmed and allocated, so we may as well use them. Are you planning on self studying and then sitting the exams, or doing a face to face course?

Just so you're aware, you'll need to sit three assessments - standard theory, regulations and a stand alone practical.

Last night I heard a scratchy but mostly readable transmission on 467.9875 with a voice saying they were testing BA Alpha on channel 200. Added to the master list on the first post.

467.6875 might be command 2 if Mandurah are using it instead of FRS 2 because perhaps FRS 1 and FRS 2 were renamed to Command 1 and Command 2 ? That would make sense. Head traffic today on 467.7875. Pump to tanker asking for a DBA status. I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest this is the "...

the foundation manual is getting people confused where my understanding is calling cq is only for hf but the foundation mannual book 3 dosen't say this from memory so what is correct ?. What parts of the manual are confusing? "Calling CQ" means you are wanting to talk to any station, not ...

Third alarm fire in West Bullsbrook. Burning in thick scrub. Crews from Swan, Chittering and Mundaring shires all attending plus aerial assets.

Not sure what you've found but 460.8 MHz is outside the amateur bands. We have 430 - 450 MHz.
