seems to suggest that they may be transmitting on 135 or 372....
I'd be guessing that 372 is a command channel, as the others listed near it are also command channels.

Re: Other incidents/minor fires etc - 2013/2014
There is a general smokiness around Bakers Hill, and DFES site is not responding.
Anyone know whats causing it?
Edit: Twitter says smoke in metro area is expected to clear on Monday Morning. Is this the same smoke?
Ignore edit. I should have refreshed my browser.

Re: Bassendean No More
Ah.. the end of an era...... I remember going there for a school excursion at a young age. So young that I remember learning about 000 calls while standing outside behind what I would have called the big firetruck, but now know as a pump. Now I sound like one of those old nostalgic people that I wan...

Sorry for the late reply.yorky wrote:Was it a normal'ish car or one of those fan dangled new advanced traffic cars? I recall a while ago cameras were going to be trialled but I can't remember if it was personal camera's or Tazer cameras.
I was so distracted by the badge I paid no attention to the car.

Cameras on pocket badges?
Hi all. I was pulled over for a license check this morning, and I think the officer was wearing a camera clipped to his shirt. Is this correct, or am I imagining things? What I saw was black, and about the same size as a name badge, with the camera at the right as I was looking at it. If so, how do ...

Re: Streaming FESA scanner audio
I wanted something that I could control remotely if need be, and was saving up for a UBCD396XT when a WARSUG member shared the $19 scanner link with me. I reckon I would have had to invest the same amount of time for both solutions, so I think I've come out in front with the SDR option. Not to menti...

Re: How to 'build a $19 scanner'
For those that are interested, I've managed to get SDRSharp working for my feed.
Lots of learning for me, but it works now - Yay!!
Now I need a second DVB-T to scan the not-so-critical frequencies in the area....

Re: Streaming FESA scanner audio
Gavin, What software are you using to stream to Broadcastify? I've just today decommissioned my Uniden scanner and replaced it SDRSharp and a DVB-T dongle. I am receiving at my Win7 PC fine (Might need to install Linux and DarkIce on this box), Squelch is working at the PC, but I'm using ScannerCast...

Re: WA Air support for NSW fires
Thanks for the info guys. Interesting that there is not a modular setup for changing radios and aerials considering that they are only contracted. Anyway, probably a lot of radio engineering that I don't know about that impacts on that. Solutions suggested by the ignorant are often over simplified :-)

WA Air support for NSW fires
I was asked today for my thoughts on why some of the WA air support is not tasked to help out in NSW. I mumbled some crap about exposure here, and perhaps, maybe the airspace above the fires might get to crowded. Is anyone in a position to answer this question authoritatively, and if so, would they ...
