I had hoped to be there, but on of my jobs requires me to be on a course so I'll be out in the bush instead...maybe next year...

Re: WA Police Service Frequencies and Callsigns
When Police (metro) could be listened to it was being updated fairly regularly, well a few other copies got started up as the wheel was reinvented. However now I think for many it's habit to provide an up todate look of the cars. In due course country area's will be switched to digital. Some distric...

Re: Giardini Restaurant / Leederville Fire
Thanks mate, one of the fire fighters looks suspicously like someone I know! Not sure which shift was on last night so can't confirm.
The reason I asked previously which cafe is because the one snapped in your first couple of shots is partly owned and run by a guy I used to work with.

Re: How fast ??
This has been discussed a few times before, essentially they go as fast as traffic/weather/road conditions permit. I haven't seen a fixed limit on max speed though from what I've heard the general concensus is 20kph over the designated speed limit. It's up to the driver though as ultimately they are...

Re: QH106 being used as a booze bus
From the Criminal Code of WA: A person, when they do an act or omission that constitutes an offence they are either guilty of a 'crime' or a 'simple offence'... the code will actually state a person is guitly of either a crime or an offence. Such things as disorderly behaviour, assault and traffic ...

you are correct it is the driver's license. From memory no there isn't an abbreviation sheet or similar for WAPOL
Re: FS: VHF (66-88 MHz) Handheld Transceiver with extras
Let me take this opportunity to say that I have known rustynswrail for over 20 years, and there are few people in this country more knowledgeable about scanning than him. There would be no-one more aware of responsible - and legal - radio use, and no-one more eager to promote responsible - and lega...

Re: QH106 being used as a booze bus
...because someone decided to waste resources on traffic duties instead of targeting crime... What is the cost of not catching someone that is drink driving?? Someone else's life? Would you feel differently if it was a family member or significant other that was killed because of it? Oh and then th...

Re: News videos in here (YouTube™)
I took some mobile phone footage of a guy i know (not friends with) being arrested in Fremantle tonight for drunk and disorderly originally... but as he was being led into the divvy van he lashed out.. i only managed to film after the lash out and thoguht i'd share so people can see some of the com...
Re: FS: VHF (66-88 MHz) Handheld Transceiver with extras
Rusty, We don't have an issue with the sale of the radio through the board, unfortunately there are those that don't realise the differences between frequencies (read question about UHF channels), and some further that won't realise the ramifications. What fastlane is warning that because it's not a...

Re: QH106 being used as a booze bus
Probably because they just use random patrol cars where as now it seems they're going to target more area's including the "not so common" booze bus locations.

Saw Midland's Urban Pump fly through the lights at Morrison Road x Great Northern Hwy at lunch time, close to 1pm. It's visible! Can anyone confirm which shift was on days today? One of the guys looked like an ex Darlington member.

Re: Other incidents/minor fires etc - 2009/2010
Yep, I doubt it was Tammin :-) They were heading east and I assume they were Armadale, Gosnells etc - the Roley brigade is already to the east of me. All going light and sirens. Seems they didn't leave roleystone, a friend on the outskirts of roleystone commented: "1 helicopter, 2 ambos, 2 cop...
