I hear where you are coming from! Got the same problem south of the river. Hoons constantly tear up in my local neighbourhood. Nearly every day I see new "hoon markings" on the road or another knocked-down street sign or traffic light. Speeding through school zones is an ever increasing pr...

I think its a good idea of having "raised lightbars". It would certainly help to spot the emergency vehicles better in a crowd of traffic. Japan have had raised lightbars for years. However, it tends to only be used when stationary at an accident or warning of danger ahead. NYPD highway pa...

See the Public Transport section under the thread "New Transperth Security Vehicle." Its been discussed there.

The design does look pretty good, but as yet no one has been able to get a photo.

I actually do kinda miss the Secureforce "Chevys" tho

New Transperth Security Vehicle

Greetings all, Spotted today near Murdoch train station the new Transperth security since Secureforce lost the contract... a new model silver Hyundai Sonata with "Transperth Security" written across the doors with a PTA transit badge and green checkered bands scattered across rear quarter ...

Hi all, Its not unusual from my POV. I drive in the city a fair bit and see plenty of unmarked cars during the weekdays. Even seen a VY Exec with mag wheels! Definitely covert!! Hupcaps are becoming the norm on unmarked cars to make them less distinguishable... Just look closely behind the hubcaps a...

Alinco scanner recommendations?

Hello all, Just wondering if anyone has had a go with the new Alinco DJ-X30 reciever or whether the reputation of Alinco is a reliable brand? I see that the DJ-X30 has many features and covers a very wide range of frequencies. Im just tired of seeing Uniden too often. I am also looking at the Yaesu ...

No offence taken JG-103. I have no sinister reasons other than curiosity at what my rates are going to... and yes, I am a scanner user in my spare time 8) I work for a council and see a fair few council patrols driving around in nicely marked up large family cars... though I still wonder why council...

Council Patrols

Greetings, Can anyone shed some light on the frequencies used by the following council security patrols: Bayswater Belmont Melville Perth Stirling I know Canning operate on 465.675 and 466.600. They use Alpha and Sierra callsigns - Sierra being the supervisor (I think!). From former posts about Bays...

Very nice pic of the XR6 :D

I saw a group of marked up Ford Falcon XTs parked at Centre Ford on the weekend. No callsigns or lightbars fitted yet.

Its nice to see some variety again in the WA police fleet!! This will definitely keep the crims guessing 8)

The Force - few questions about the WAPOL cars

Finally got to see The Force last night, and it was great to see we finally have a home-grown cop show showing what our cops really do out there, so bravo CH7! A few things I picked up on last night's show in regards to the police vehicles... The unmarked Commodore on the traffic stop appeared to ha...

Extra Aerials

I think from memory looking at the RFI website, if you are describing the on-glass aerials which look just like a mobile antenna and not the UHF glass-mount, then its probably a data/MDT antenna... which is more than likely part of the new digital system being implemented. NSW vehicles used to have ...

Secureforce worries

I agree that Secureforce should not be given the authority to run urgent duty driving under any circumstances. Major incidents occuring on buses and bus ports should be dealt with by the police. It really does seem Mr Ryan is intent on establishing a private Transit Police Force. I have no probs of ...

LEDs

I agree LEDs should be fitted to unmarked cars for patrol and traffic duites. They have good visibility night and day, draw low power consumption and can be very covert in design depending on make and model. Hi vis LEDs including deckblasters, I believe, can help to enforce the message that there AR...

Secureforce freqs

Greetings all,

Wondering if anyone knows the frequencies used by Secureforce International as well as their frequencies for bus transit security?

I've been listening to many of the public bus frequencies around the 470's but have yet to hear the security channel/s

Cheers
