It is basically fitted out like an ambulance, I did not see any Police or Fesa radios at all. I t think if its needed by FESA/POLICE its still dispatched by 6DS and sent whereever its needed. Hmm. So we have Polair 61 which has police frequencies, Rescue 1 which is on SJA, plus the Firies choppers....

Rescue 1 (RAC Heli) is dispatched and controlled by the St John Ambulance Communications and Dispatch Centre in Belmont. Their callsign is "Rescue 1" and you can frequently hear them on the St John Frequency. Cool. Haven't heard them yet. Wonder if SJA base can selcall them like they do t...

Re: Receiving Country Frequencies

I think police, fire and ambulance stuff mainly.[/i] Hmm... Generally not possible to receive signals East of Perth from Perth. VHF and UHF is mostly line-of-sight. Being on the otherside of the Darling scarp means that signals rarely make it east-west unless some good atmospheric conditions (like ...

Welcome, wing commander :-)

What band or service are you trying to receive?

i always though 17 was mandurah and 61 was a repeater (for pinjarra)
17 is a repeater, 61 is a repeater. Both are linked together, so the actual channel the copper uses in Mandurah depends on exactly where he is to get the best signal.

Re: what's C.A.D. Stand for

Hi Everyone, Just wanted to know what cad is?I've been hearing officers ask vki to take them off cad what does it mean. Don't know for certain but I'd say it stands for Computer Aided Dispatch. It's a generic term that refers to a computer job dispatch system like the police use. These days most ta...

New Westrail channel?

Hi all.

I've noticed a Trainrider/PTA security channel that has picked up in signal strength lately - 419.500Mhz. No idea where that repeater is but it sure has a nice signal listening in the car :-)

Anybody else want to try it and see if they get it better than the other Westrail freqs?
