Re: Qantas - Grounded

My (as un-political as possible) take on it...This is one way to try and force a resolution but judging by the social media str...

Re: Qantas - Grounded
I can't help but be reminded of what happened at the ports back in....98? I'm sure both sides could have put more effort into negotiating an outcome before this, but I do think Nafenn summed up the current situation pretty concisely.

Re: Pilot goes flying
These were for B737s. I know Tigers ground staff where using them in Melbourne and saw one being used on a VA jet at Brissy. Guessing they'd be no more than a couple of hundred kilos.

Re: Pilot goes flying
Would some of the old (ex Ansett?) stairs be light enough? I've seen them pushed around by just one person before.

Re: General fire discussions
Unsure of alarm but I would guess at least 3rd, not sure if its Orange Springs but Wanneroo ICV turning out up that way as well as other appliances (heard the 12.2 go out). Can see a huge amount of smoke to the north. http://www.perthnow.com.au/news/deadly-bushfires-expected-to-hit-homes/story-e6fr...

Re: Water corp Fire support
I once saw lights and sirens on a B-double fuel tanker. I don't have a problem with it as long as the drivers are trained.

Re: Bridgetown fire
Its similar to that, but if you look carefully, or take my word for it, it doesn't have an elevated work platform/cage at the end of the boom. Just a director/monitor/marauder head so the operators can get water into trees burning way above.

Re: Bridgetown fire
what is that snorkel HL1 can anyone give specs or why does it have a snorkel lift Snorkie or something like that they call it. It gets used to squirt water into burning stags and where hollow trees are candling way above, where you just cannot reach with a hose. Not sure of the specs but don't thin...

So probably not CO2. That site had a lot more info on it than the US one I looked at earlier. Still the MSDS had the ingredients are 'trade secret'.

Yeah, saw that. Did anyone catch a glimpse of what the first marshall that went for the left rear side used? It didn't look like powder.

Re: Firefox 3
Is it just me or do others think there is a move away from minor releases to major ones? I've noticed the same thing with some of the software I use at work which used to have a X.y.z SPn and now just seems to do major releases. I suspect the work software is doing this as the underlying code archit...
