I'm listenig to the Florida repeater (164.925), What talkgroup do I need to monitor? My radio display contact details once someone keys up, but I don't recieve any audio. I have it set to simplex mode, with my CC and TS on 1. I have turned off group call matching too. Edit: works fine now, just had ...

Baofeng DM-1701 first impressions
I recieved the radio yesterday in the mail, after just over 14 days, which wasn't too bad considering it shipped from China. I ordered it for $118.25 from eBay. It arrived in the original box, which was a pleasant suprise, compared to the bubble wrap that they normally ship in. Unboxing the radio wa...

Re: PTA going to digital LTE
But if Transperth are going through all the trouble of replacing the old radio system infrastructure, if they are indeed switching to PTToC, why would they bother?

Re: PTA going to digital LTE
Seems like some of the guards have new radios now, they look like Tait handhelds rather than the standard Motorola ones. Probably getting ready for the digital changeover. Will they be using P25 or DMR?

Got a picture of all the Waroona appliances at the Waroona Country Fair. Saw their Collar Tank trailer too but it was behind a fence.

Re: DMR systems to listen to
Upon closer inspection, I can't easily change the band to 450-520 without having to re-enter all the channels, so I'll probably have to make a separate configuration for special occasions.

Re: DMR systems to listen to
I looked on the ACMA map and saw the linked network for SLS, would I just put the repeater output frequency and let it do it's thing, since I have "promiscuous mode" enabled. Also with regards to the CSE Crosscom frequencies, as I mentioned, the official CPS has an option to change the ban...

DMR systems to listen to
Just bought a Baofeng DM-1701, would of got the GD-77 but the ones I could find all shipped from China. It does 136-174 and 400-480, but the CPS gives me the option to change the band to 430-520, I'll have to test if that works once it arrives. So, my question is, what is there that I can listen to ...
