Re: Perth Tetra,NXDN
Lots of trunked DMR, too. Can't easily decode it for some reason, have to tweak the settings more in DSDPlus, I think.

Wow. That's a nice scanner. Way beyond my experience though. What are you trying to listen to?

Re: Transport Companies
Many transport companies use MPT trunking ~415MHz. They don't use their own frequencies and share channels. It's a bit of a challenge to listen - you'll need a trunk tracker that supports MPT trunking (rare), or a SDR TV dongle and some software to glue it all together or you could scan the band to ...

Weather satellites
I've built a turnstile antenna using parts easily obtained from Bunnings (aluminium tube, PVC pipe, etc) to receive amateur radio satellites and the ISS. Not a lot of luck with the amateur radio side of things yet, but I'm getting some impressive pictures from the old NOAA analogue weather satellite...

Re: VHF-Mid Band Use
I don't think mid-band will be going anywhere as it's useful for dual-watch, given that most simplex channels are VHF high-band. On a fireground, a sector commander to need to listen to two channels: The simplex channel the vehicles under his command are using, and the duplex channel that he uses to...

News: Just launched, AO-91 will be a great bird
AO-91 is an FM repeater satellite with a strong 2 meter downlink (receivable with a rubber duck) and an incredibly sensitive receive system on the 70 cm uplink. There are reports of people getting into the bird using a handheld inside a house. That is incredible. This will likely become another “Eas...

The second fireground stream is now in summer mode, which means the 6AR/IP command channel is no longer on that stream.

Re: New DFES UHF channels discussion
ES A is channel 171 (old channel), channel 218 (new channel). 458.025MHz. ES B is channel 172 (old channel), channel 219 (new channel). 458.075MHz. These channels are owned by SJA which is why on the stream they pick up random P25 traffic as noise. ES C and ES D (probably channel 220 and 221) are ye...
