The Radio & Electronics Support Unit, they are responsible for everything from installing radios into cars, maintaining repeaters to video surveillance. though its split into two sections, radio and video sections. the guys that installed that equipment would have been from the radio section.

Re: Incident Control Vehicle
The state of some of the ICV's being used at the moment is a joke! not saying they arent looked after, but they are so old and there all very different (as previously stated) FESA are trying to standardise it all so if there is a big fire, in say... wanneroo then should there be a need to crew it wi...
Re: WAERN use
Has anyone used the dual TX/RX or crossband repeat function operationally ? they could be awesome features to have at hand, but seem to be causing more bad than good. as said befor, it all comes down to training, or lack of. I know our brigade has barley touched on these functions. most people stru...

Re: Meet...WAPOL WT300
I think its good. very similar to the old falcons they used to use. I like the idea of having 2 lightbars, it comes with the bonus of more alley lights. and the extra lockers (although they look abit small). i think the Varley pods on the hilux's only have 1 or 2 lockers? I imagine these would be ab...
Re: TE's
Emergency escorts such as a crane going to recover a heavy vehicle over-turned at a TA perhaps? or similar. or maybe they just have red/blues because they can ?

Re: Ambulance Sirens
At a guess, im going to say no. the siren is aimed forwards.
saying that, In the fire trucks if you have the windows down it is still pretty loud, wind the window up and it is
considerably quieter.

Re: Emergency control device.
I had a chance to play with these controllers when i did work experience with the police radio & electronics unit a few years ago. your all right, Alert set everything off, and pressing it again changes the siren tone. the arrows are the Alley and Take-down lights. Primary is the Emergency light...

Re: Is it true that if you accidently kill someone driving..
That's a bit different, he actually hit them, they didnt jump out infront of him. that should be manslaughter. and someone i knew from school was given 3 years in prison and then released with a suspended sentace after murdering someone. so i doubt very much that you would get life if you accidently...
Re: WAERN use
the new stickers with the channel plan should help a bit, what iv noticed though is because there are some mid band and high band channels linked together, its causing more confusion. i went to an incident where they had a midband and highband channel for each sector, thinking they were link. the on...
