Re: TE's

Probably have red and blues due to the size of the loads involved. Something that big probably doesn't move that fast. So say they are stopped at a set of lights and then go on the green it might take the whole cycle for them to get and up going or even longer. The escorts can then block traffic usi...

NYPD in Darwin

http://www.ntnews.com.au/article/2012/0 ... tnews.html

Another great article from the NT news. Interesting to see if they will get charged with anything. Don't know what they were trying to achieve or why they wanted to do something like this.

Re: Private Vehicles

Agree with the others. Call the brigade in question and simply say I am a community member and saw xyz happen, it seemed a little strange so I thought I'd let you know. I'd find it hard to imagine where the captain or other appropriate officer wouldn't be grateful for information/feedback from the c...

Re: Paramedical Science Major at ECU

Have to agree life experience is definitely something needed. I was fortunate to get into the job quite young. Like others have said getting employed is the hard bit. I think of it like being in the police or fire service. Hard to get in but once you're in you're in and transferring between states i...

Re: Paramedic Belt Equiptment

There was a joke that the newer the paramedic the more stuff they have on their belt e.g. scissors pouch, leatherman, mag lite loop, glove pouch. Up here quite a few people have equipment belts but most people don't go beyond a scissor pouch. Too much stuff and you can't sit with your back flush aga...

See they haven't received their scania yet. They are meant to be getting the next new one. Fire station is right next to the ambulance station

Re: Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting

Only protesters I saw were in Forrest Chase so they didn't have any real impact on me. No hint of them at the BBQ which was the only event I attended. As I said before real happy family environment there.

Re: Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting

What did everyone think of CHOGM? I didn't experience any real disruption but only ventured into the city for the bbq. Quite a nice event with lots of community events on for people to enjoy. Lots of people were very happy and excited to see Her Majesty at the bbq. Was really nice to see everyone so...

Re: General CHOGM discussion thread

I don't about others but if I was protesting a particular cause i'd make sure everything was spelt right as I believe it's how well that you articulate your argument is what counts. By not even being able to spell properly, particularly a country that you are protesting about it demonstrates that yo...

Re: General CHOGM discussion thread

Think I upset an Occupy Perth protester in the city during CHOGM after the BBQ. Had a sign mentioning war in Iraq and Afghanistan. Pointed out that he spelt it "Afgan" and that was a 'H' in Afghanistan. He was quite offended I pointed that out. Like I punched he sainted mother in the face.
