Other than that, the other things I enjoy listening to are some of the commercial TV stations. I know that 7 and 9 are quite active when their choppers are up in the air, or their live-cross news 4WD's are out on the road sending tape feeds or crossing live during the news. Don't have the exact freq...

Air band is good if you live close enough to the airport. I live in Yokine (near Dog Swamp) and with just a small mobile antenna on a magnetic base in the gutter, I can hear the airport quite well, especially at night. It makes it more fun if you have internet access close by to your scanner, as you...

Around 502-504mhz sitting on the top of Central Park in the city. There's about...

My flatmates dad is one of the big nobs (managers) at YPPH and when he was over here for dinner one night we got talking about it. He said that the runway will not handle it, but it's most definantely something that they are looking at upgrading in the future, so that it will be able to handle an A3...

Melbourne Centre
Where abouts does Melb centre hang out these days? I remember quite a few years ago with a cheap Uniden scanner and nothing other than the supplied rubber ducky I could hear it inside my house quite loud on 120.000mhz. I have a feeling it's now somewhere towards 120.8 (would that be correct) but I f...

Re: CB radio's... Confusion!
Yes, it's AM only, not SSB. I would seriously consider checking out other brands as while Uniden make good equipment in some ranges, their CB's are pretty much just a bog standard no frills rig. Take a look at the Icom IC-400pro or the GME TX4400, they are both good rigs and will get you started. If...
