Re: Paging and Audio feeds in WA
Are you saying you look at the feed online, or you run the decoding yourself? If you're looking for an online source, can almost guarantee you won't find one. Mostly because the few people that do run decoding in WA keep it quiet because everyone thinks it's a big no-no. If you are familiar with POC...

Re: SET 6 years on
The LRV was only working with Osborne Park crews prior to the Scania SET (dual cab) because the Nissan is a single cab.

Re: Emergency control device.
That sounds about right Wes. There were using these controllers around 2000-02 in FRS vehicles, but then started to replace them with the 3-button setup. One of the useful (fun) features was that you could record a message, and then play it back on a loop.

Re: SET 6 years on
I'd agree with most of that except the last bit. When the new Osborne Park station was opened, the old SET moved there along with the LRV I believe to enable 4x crew response. The first of the new SETs then went to Osborne Park and the second to Murdoch once commissioned. Of course the spare spent a...

How do people like to receive updates to Major fires posts?
I'm in the camp of one thread per incident. Not really necessary to lock it at the end. But might be good to have an 'active' and 'past' sub forum. Once an incident is 'over' move it to 'past' and any news/ images etc can be added. While in 'active' only incident updates are acceptable. Just one ide...

FRS ICVs over time (Perth & Belmont)
A few of the ICVs that the FRS have operated over the years. The ICV used to operate out of Perth Station, but moved to Belmont as part of the decentralisation of resources from Perth. Since being at Belmont, the new improved monster has come into service. ICV2 - Nissan ICV3 - Toyota Coaster ICV5 - ...

Re: Other incidents/minor fires etc - 2011/2012
Leigh, there are move-ups conducted fairly early when things get busy. You won't always hear them on the radio as they can be communicated by MDT and Telephone. One of the nice things to see when I've visited Comcen in the past is their operating screens. There are very quick and clear prompts when ...

Swan CFM just requested a heap of appliances Firecall for "The Springs Road" in Gidgiegannup. Air support requested. ICV to establised cnr reen and the springs rd. When does this become Major? <lots of trimming>. Between the points above, and the appliances equivalent to 3rd alarm, I'd ca...

Re: Fire Station Point-Of-Interest file???
I started a Google Maps file a while ago, which can be transferred to various formats. Happy to collaborate to add more locations. There's also a website you can subscribe to or purchase POI files from, though from the info I've seen there, as well as what's on some of the Car Nav devices, there's a...
