cars are more deadly than guns - statistics will tell you that.

also an officer can decide when to fire their gun. they cant decide whether someone pulls out in front of them or gets in the way during a pursuit.

The ultimate aim is to preserve life - this goes for any emergency service. Driving in such a dangerous manner is completely contrary to this aim (and the law, strangely enough!).

Out in the sticks, they use VHF Mid-Band and also HF. I believe the reason for moving to High Band, is theres much more frequency space available, and also there is interopability with Marine (and as such, VMRS). They're already having huge problems with VHF-Mid, due to inversion layer interference....

And when its busy in summer, you might want to try 78.3500Mhz as well - this is for outer metro/country.. when it gets busy, they remove the link between the metro channels and the outer metro channels (6AR vs 6IP).
