Large closure incoming...
The sinking of the fremantle line is going rather well... Ahead of time and on budget... So far ahead of time that they are getting ready to run trains through the tunnel as soon as July 18. As per http://www.transperth.wa.gov.au/ServiceUpdates/ServiceDisruptions/MajorTrainDisruptionJulyandAugust201...

Re: Yes; ANOTHER gas bus fire!
If this is the one I think it is, I've heard from various sources that this one was an electrical fire & had nothing to do with the previous fires. Apparently the engine was undamaged Hopefully the fire was not caused by a design flaw in all of the gas buses... The last thing we need is MORE da...

Yes; ANOTHER gas bus fire!
"Perth's fleet of gas-fuelled buses may have to be taken off the road if unexplained fires continue to threaten safety. The warning from the Public Transport Authority comes after a Mercedes-Benz bus caught fire and was badly damaged as it was about to be refuelled at the Welshpool depot on Sun...

Re: A strange incident that happend on monday...
Running low on fuel perhaps? If that was the case then the driver would have radioed that to the depot and the bus probably would not have been allowed to leave the station under it's own power until they bought in a jerrycan or something! (The last place you want to be during peak hour is stuck be...

A strange incident that happend on monday...
On 4/3/2013 I boarded bus 1486 at Oats St station and out of the blue at approx 1:49 pm the driver asked everyone to leave the bus for no apparent reason. There were no visible or obvious mechanical faults, no audible alarms and no radio activity before the announcement was made and once all the pas...

Re: Bus fire
That's rather interesting, as I find the OC's have a lot more room than the B7RLE's, but then again, that could just be my imagination Sometimes the OC's have sufficiant legroom but a few of them have a configuration that just kills any legroom you could have. If I see an OC with no gap between the...

Re: Bus fire
While the newer ones don't have the same amount as the old diesels they do have more legroom than the gas buses (I can actually sit down without my knees hitting the seat in front of me!)6stbase wrote:Volvo's and legroom? You must be joking?

Transperth to trial hybrid buses in March on CAT routes
It looks like Transperth might be looking at new bus models. I spotted a rather unusual bus in the Claisebrook bus depot this morning (Was unable to get a picture due to the fact that I was whizzing past on the train inbound to Claisebrook station) which had three units on the roof (Presumably one f...

Re: Bus fire
While the Diesel buses are more comfortable; their air conditioning SUCKS and they are not wheelchair-accessible. Remember a good number of the latest silver buses are also diesel. Including all the Volvos as far as I'm aware. Well that's good! Those latest ones have the legroom and comfortable sea...

Re: Bus fire
...if there is a fire its not like you want to be standing next to a dozen gas cylinders... Well; that much is obvious! Hopefully they can fix the problem soon.
