Got a interesting radio SOP change other day. VFRS station no longer call off/on station unless its for a call. if its for a call all it will be is "station name & appilance" turning out to incident number "12345", crew of four, OIC donald duck.

It use to help being a vollie with a trade when actual firies were picking who got in. these days they contract the selection out to a company. Got told this from a instructor at the training centre.

Any details about whats happening carnavon/gascoyne area? VFRS are sending a team up there.
