Re: New to pic posting

Thanks Yorky

I think I pasted the wrong link (Hotlink 2 instead of 1), I did a practise preview pic and it seemed to work. Again thanks.

New to pic posting

This is my first attempt at posting a pic on these forums so please excuse me if I stuff it up. This pic is of a small fire I attended as part of Bullsbrook Fire brigade and was just north of Gingers Roadhouse, Upper Swan just before christmas. Hope it works! Re: Anyone shed some info on the ubc120xlt

Hi Nick, Can't help you with the 120xlt but last christmas I bought myself a UBC93XLT and a MobileOne SCBASE antenna at the recomendation of other members here. Magnificent setup. Very easy to operate and picks up from far and wide (eg: I can hear Northam and York firies, and DEC down at Nanga Brook...

Re: Help to identify strange vehicle!

Thanks everyone for the quick replies. Sounds like Margaret and I have seen our first TRG vehicle as that description sure matches best. I am familiar with private BFS units being VFS myself and have seen many SECWA emergancy units and this was nothing like those plus the gear on top was not for ele...

Help to identify strange vehicle!

Today at about 11:30am? on Guilford rd we were passed by a vehicle under emergency lights and siren of a type that neither of us have seen before. (and we are pretty savy with most.). It was a brown 4x4 possibly a Nissin Patrol with private reg. plates. No markings and on the roof were white polly t...

Re: FESA frequencies

Thanks for the quick replies. I'll see what happens and let you know.

Meg I have been listening to those two freq. without success, I think that GinGin is almost getting through, but not quite.

Re: FESA frequencies

Please excuse if there is a obvious answer to this but I'm still learning. With my UBC93XLT I can clearly pick up 6AR (78.075) which appears to be mainly career, Mundaring region and south of the river. My question is, what is 6IP's operating freq. for around Bullsbrook. I dont seem to be able to fi...

Re: Christmas present to me! UBC93XLT.

Thanks for all the help. And for the advice, I followed your suggestion Meg and got myself a MobileOne SCBASE antenna, they are a lot bigger than I expected! Wow! What a differance, reception has gone up through the roof (slight pun?). Was getting Perth approach only and not good. (I think Pearce is...

Member locations

Just a thought that may make me just a little unpopular perhaps? Wouldnt it be good if the location box below members user names actually had a location eg:nearest town or suburb name insead of meanless whatevers. This would give beginers like me an excellant way of roughly knowing what may be picke...

Christmas present to me! UBC93XLT.

Brand new to scanners so here goes! Decided to get a hand held for my present this year (mostly for fire traffic use. Like others here I am a vollie.) and after much research (especially on WASUG, thanks guys.) settled on the Uniden UBC93XLT. Very nice, compact unit. Out here at Bullsbrook I fully e...

Hello all, this is my first post since finding ths wonderful site. Now back on topic. I find it interesting the comments about "I live in the city so why should I bother with fire readiness training?". I imagine that this is what a lot of the folks in Canberra back in 2003 thought too. The...
